Go Big or Go Home!
Tuesday, February 2, 2010 Okay, because there have been SO MANY fabulous contest entries in yesterday's post, I'm upping the stakes to two galleys. If the comments keep piling on, maybe I'll up it to three. :) So if you haven't entered, post your comment in yesterday's post (not today's), and I'll announce the winner on Friday!
Also, I just wanted to reiterate how much I'm enjoying reading your aspirations for the future. What's interesting is that I arbitrarily chose that five-year projection mark, and so many of you guys hope to be published in five years. Well, guess what? As of five years ago, I was not a fiction writer. I was just a journalist who had a seed in her brain that maybe she could write a decent novel, and while my first attempts hadn't gone really anywhere, I still thought I should keep at it. So I did.
Five years is nothing if you keep pointing yourself in the direction you're aiming for.
So, anyhoo, don't forget to enter in the below post! Thanks for playing along!

Wow, that's so encouraging! Hard to believe how far you've come in just 5 years. And so, SO inspiring. Thanks, Allison!
Thanks for the encouragement. I always tell myself, well it took eight years for me to be able to hang out my own shingle as a consultant. I shouldn't worry about the writing for at least that long.
That *is* encouraging! I'm amazed at how long it's taking me to work through my various projects/plans, but I have such hope that when I finish something, it will feel and be like reaching the source of the Nile, and I can turn from this upstream slog and kayak my way, hooting and hollering, back to the sea.
That's so encouraging - thanks for telling us that. Just what I needed to hear today.
