Big News! I'm Moving!

ETA: Holy turd! I'm the deal of the day on Publishers Marketplace. I had to snap a screenshot because I'm so stunned...amazing to share this with my wonderful agent as to how far we've come.

No....not out of New York, though that might happen soon too. Rather, I am THRILLED to be able to announce that I have a new publisher - The Memory of Us will be published by Putnam, an imprint of Penguin books. I'll be back next week with more details on the reasons behind it (and to stress how much I loved my time at Shaye Areheart books, which has now been shuttered - sob), but for now, here's the announcement from Publishers Marketplace:

Fiction:
General/Other:  NYT bestselling author Allison Winn Scotch's THE MEMORY OF US, about a woman who survives a plane crash, only to lose her memory in the process, and who now has to string together the pieces of her life via the stories told to her by those around her - examining their motives, discerning truths, exploring the possibility of her life's second chances and the meaning of love, moving to Marysue Rucci at Putnam, in a significant deal, by Elisabeth Weed at Weed Literary (world).

Yay! Very excited. Can't wait to get this book out into the world.

Congrats!

And I look forward to hearing about how something like this (imprint closing) affects an author, and what agents/editors do to keep a book alive.

Didn't realize until recently what these keywords-- nice, significant, etc-- meant, but then Publisher's Weekly clarified it for me the other day, and significant is indeed, quite significant!

Huge congratulations! Can't think of a person who deserves the success more.

Congratulations!

I had heard Shaye Arehardt was closing but I thought she was staying on herself? So any details you can give for the publishing curious would be wonderful!
